Position Number Ftbd Salary Competitive with Market FLSA Exempt Employment Status Full Time 9 Mos Regular Appointment Type Full-time Non Tenure Track General Description The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching courses in stagecraft, applied theatre, and/or other courses based on departmental needs and areas of specialty.
Essential Job Duties Setting and enforcing best safety practices and setting safe-use guidelines for use of all equipment and tools.
Overseeing the construction, installation, and strikes of all scenery for the Theatre Department’s season.
Daily operation, organization, and management of the scene shop.
Coordinating all technical needs for the department.
Creating build schedules for each departmental production.
Attend all technical rehearsals for productions.
Supervising student and work study crews to build scenic elements.
Advising production managers, directors, and designers on feasibility, cost, and equipment capabilities.
Attending all production meetings in the Department of Theatre.
Additional Duties Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree with significant professional experience at the regional level.
• University-level teaching experience (Graduate Assistantship experience included).
Preferred Education and Experience MFA in Technical Director or related field.

· Overseeing the construction, installation, and strikes of all scenery for the Theatre Department’s season · Daily operation, organization, and management of the scene shop · Coordinating all technical needs for the department.
· Creating build schedules for each departmental production · Attend all technical rehearsals for productions · Supervising student and work study crews to build scenic elements · Advising production managers, directors, and designers on feasibility, cost, and equipment capabilities · Attending all production meetings in the Department of Theatre · Developing technical drafts from designer drawings · Participation in department recruitment activities.
Required Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree with significant professional experience at the regional level.
· University-level teaching experience (Graduate Assistantship experience included).
Preferred Qualifications: · MFA in Technical Direction or related field.
