General Description
The purpose of this position is to assist and advise current and prospective students in the admissions process.
Recruit prospective high school and community college students to the University of Montevallo (UM).
Establish and maintain relationships with counselors and provide relevant knowledge in regard to UM.
Essential Job Duties
1.
Contact prospective student via email, telephone, zoom and text messages.
2.
Attend college fairs.
3.
Attend High Schools and visit with juniors and seniors.
4.
Host families touring the campus.
5.
Admissions staff members are responsible for reviewing and decision-making for student applicant files by evaluating standardized test scores and high school transcripts (for freshmen applicants) and college transcripts (for transfer applicants).
6.
Organize student-interest receptions.
7.
Attend scholarship award day events.
8.
Update recruitment data in the Banner and Recruit systems.
9.
Host families for Saturday tours.
10.
Attend and host families for Spring, Summer and Fall preview days.
11.
Meet with prospective families to review admission requirements.
12.
Contact high school counselors to obtain missing documentation for student applicants.

Knowledge of basic computer skills and programs (Microsoft, PowerPoint, excel, etc.

Ability to work with RECRUIT CRM, BANNER and ARGOS;

Knowledge of Montevallo’s campus, faculty, employees and colleges;
Knowledge of the admissions process;
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately via email or telephone;
Ability to organize and manage time wisely;
Ability to multitask job duties and assignments.
