General Description
The Department of English and World Languages at the University of Montevallo, a public liberal arts university near Birmingham, Alabama, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to teach British Romanticism and Victorian Literature beginning Fall 2024.
Preference will be given to applicants with research specialization in Romanticism and Victorian literature, with possible secondary interest in the Long Eighteenth Century or Modernism.
Essential Job Duties
Primary responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load (12 credit hours each Fall and Spring term), including classes in first-year composition, global literature, and faculty specializations; participating in departmental and university-wide committee service; and conducting and publishing ongoing academic research.
Other duties related to this position may also be assigned.
The preferred candidate will hold a Ph.
D.
prior to starting the position.
