Description
The instructional designer will provide instructional design services to faculty seeking to utilize a variety of instructional modalities for a variety of courses.
Supports faculty in assessing, implementing, and integrating instructional design concepts and learning technologies.
This is a customer service-oriented position.
Job Duties
Reports to Director of Instructional Design
Provides input in assessing pedagogy/technology support needs and responding to them
Conducts course reviews of online courses to ensure quality of courses
Works with faculty in the development of courses of various modalities
Provides occasional technical support to end users in the use of the university learning management system
Designs, prepares, and delivers courses, workshops, small group, and one-on-one sessions for effective use of instructional design methods and/or educational technology
Assesses, on an ongoing basis, the effectiveness of instructional design services
Performs additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field preferred)
1-3 years’ experience developing and supporting content for an online learning environment
Familiar with Quality Matters standards and review process
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with faculty, staff, administration, and students within a customer service environment
Skilled in instructional design using learning management systems and academic technologies, particularly as it relates to teaching and learning in higher education
Skilled in training and end-user support
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field preferred
