Job Title: Riparian Zone Ecology/Restoration Instructor Location: Huntsville, Alabama Employer: Sanford Federal, Inc.

Overview: Sanford Federal, Inc.
is in need of an experienced Riparian Zone Ecology/Restoration Instructor to lead a federal contract.
As the Riparian Zone Ecology/Restoration Instructor with Sanford Federal, you will oversee training courses managed through the US Army Corps of Engineers Learning Center (ULC) in Huntsville, Alabama.
These courses are vital for imparting technical knowledge and skills required to support the mission.
Responsibilities: * Lead instruction for Course 281: Riparian Zone Restoration/Ecology/Management, covering a comprehensive curriculum including riparian functions, ecology, inventory techniques, impacts, restoration methods, fluvial geomorphology, and management strategies.
* Conduct classroom instruction, field trips, and interactive sessions over a 36-hour course period, adhering to instructional systems design (ISD) principles.
* Ensure students grasp key concepts such as riparian buffer strips, restoration opportunities, mammal use of riparian areas, and ecosystem relations.
* Develop student learning objectives, lesson plans, and practical exercises to enhance comprehension and application of course material.
* Create and administer criterion-referenced tests, quizzes, and performance evaluations to measure student achievement and provide timely feedback.
* Maintain administrative functions including student attendance tracking, test grading, and course documentation in accordance with ULC guidelines.
* Provide references and supplemental materials to support student learning objectives, including relevant legislation and technical guides.
Qualifications: * Hold a Ph.
D.
in biological or ecological sciences from an accredited institution.
* Possess over ten years of academic instruction experience in riparian ecology or forestry (lead instructor) or five years for other instructors.
* Demonstrate expertise in riparian habitat assessments and ecosystem restoration projects.
* Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and connect interdisciplinary topics relevant to Corps regulators, ecologists, and engineers.
* Familiarity with instructional technologies and willingness to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in course planning, delivery, and evaluation.
* Commitment to maintaining a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
