Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Professional Education Program Manager I in the UAB Collat School of Business.
Responsible for administratively managing programmatic functions that fill functional, strategic, and technical objectives of the professional education office under the general directions of the Program Director and Program Manager II and established program plans.
The position provides support and functional management in planning, logistics, documentation, marketing, student worker supervision, and other areas necessary to conduct successful professional education programs determined by the department and administration.
These professional education programs include, but are not limited to open-enrollment courses, workshops, custom academies, and leadership programs.
The program manager shall demonstrate an eagerness to learn and commitment to service excellence for all stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Program development, planning, and analysis: working with the Program Director and Program Manager II, developing professional education programs for internal and external clients.
Assist with program budget planning and adherence.
Analyze data relating to budgets including profit/loss.
Analyze program success analytics.
Program management: in coordination with the Program Director, and in established policies and procedures of department, school, and university.
Manage functions of the office and program delivery, including managing corporate programs, overseeing career advancement courses, and program budgets.
Program marketing: Increase awareness and enrollment in online programs.
Recruit and support prospective students.
Provide information about professional education and assist participants with the registration process and LMS.
Develop and coordinate marketing campaigns to meet the program needs by working with Program Director and others to create newsletters and content for various forms of marketing.
Manage and oversee all aspects of live and virtual events and classes.
Oversee contracts through the process with internal and external entities.
Process invoices, order catering, create and package program materials, order textbooks, ship materials, process certificates.

Supervise student assistants and temporary workers when necessary.
Delegate appropriate responsibilities and provide clear direction.
Collaborate with Program Director and Program Manager to develop actionable recommendations for process enhancements.
Work closely with internal team to implement recommended process improvements and monitor the progress of enhancements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
(Annual Salary: $41,175 - $48,000)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, with staff at all levels of the University and with external partners.
Candidate will have experience with execution and completion of projects and programs.
