The responsibilities of the successful candidate for the Dental Hygiene Faculty include didactic, laboratory and clinical teaching.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Didactic course preparation, presentation, development, course management, grading and evaluation
Participate and support clinic or pre-clinic assignments
Pursue excellence in teaching using variety in techniques of computers, multi-media and in lectures/laboratories
Stay current with learning resources, textbooks, dental hygiene clinical equipment/supplies, technology and software required by the dental hygiene program
Student mentoring, counseling and advisement for success and retention
Maintain accurate and updated student records
Maintain regular office hours to assist students and support the dental hygiene program
Support students with attendance at orientations, program activities, and professional conventions
Write letters of recommendation, employment and continuing education to support the students
Participate in faculty orientation and faculty development programs
Attend and support faculty/department meetings
Accept and participate in campus and dental hygiene program committee assignments
Encourage community service and involvement with faculty and students
Promote the Dental Hygiene Program to the community through attendance at local and national professional conventions.
Act as ambassador and advocate for the Dental Hygiene program and the dental hygiene profession in the college and community
Stay current in the Dental Hygiene profession through professional and occupational development
Provide leadership and professional contributions to the dental hygiene program, the school and Education Affiliates, Inc.
Maintain a positive attitude toward work, the dental hygiene department, students, colleagues, administration, the school and Education Affiliates, Inc.
Support the Dental Hygiene program vision, mission and goals
Compliance with all program and school policies
Accept and participate in other duties as assigned

Work Hours: May be full-time or part-time and can include day, evening, and weekend hours
Requirements
Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:
Education:
Must be a dental hygienist who possesses a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or be enrolled in a baccalaureate program
Or a Dentist who has background in education
Professional experience necessary to understand and fulfill the program goals
Documented background in the assigned subject
Professional:
Must have a current Dental Hygiene or Dental License or the ability to obtain one
Must have current CPR certification/health care provider
Excellent oral and written communications
3 years of full-time clinical experience
Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required
Documented of background in educational methodology
