ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR II

Description The Admission Coordinator II scholarships coordinator is a full-time staff member that reports to the Director of Undergraduate Scholarships in the Division of Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships at UAB.
This individual will provide primary support to scholarship-eligible transfer students, including appeals, deferrals, and other specialized situations.
The scholarships coordinator will award scholarships in BSMART (university scholarship system), be the point of contact for questions from transfer students regarding scholarships and represent the Scholarships Office at events for transfer students.
The coordinator also serves as the project lead for the University’s scholarship management software, BSMART (Blazer Scholarship Management and Resource Tool).
The role will communicate with UAB departments for the purpose of scholarship awarding and will provide technical training for new users in the BSMART system across campus.
Performing other duties as assigned in general support of the Scholarships Office is expected.
(Annual Salary: $34,320 - $42,000) Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience required.
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, be a fast learner of specialized university technology, prioritize well, work independently within structured deadlines, and have knowledge and/or desire to work in database applications.
Experience working in a university setting is preferred.
