General Position Summary:
The Swim Instructor position assists the Aquatic Director in the oversight of the Aquatic Center within the Levite Jewish Community Center, including but not limited to, Risk management, patron oversight, customer service, emergency response, proper documentation, facility/area upkeep, and assistance as requested by the Aquatics Director or professional staff.
_POSITION SUMMARY_
Responsible for successful instruction of learn to swim programming, customer service, emergency response, proper documentation, facility/area upkeep and assistance as requested by the Aquatics Director.
_RESPONSIBILITIES_
· Instruct group and private swimming lessons
· Evaluate participant swimming ability and determine correct swim level
· Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for participants
· Be available as needed to discuss the participant’s course evaluation with the parents/guardians and/or participants
· Punctually meet all scheduled class times, fully prepared to teach
· Attend all staff and evaluation meetings as requested
· Adhere to and enforce all the policies and procedures
· Complete all necessary planning and paperwork inherent to the class
· Perform other job related tasks as assigned
* Completion of all Incident and Accident reports as necessary
· Responsible for offering outstanding customer service
* Other duties as assigned

As a result of working as a Swim Instructor, the employee will have the opportunity to acquire and to improve communication, conflict management, teamwork, leadership, adaptability, and customer service skills.
*JOB REQUIREMENTS*
_QUALIFICATIONS_
· Previous swim instruction teaching experience or willing to participate in training
· Ability Start in morning,
· Current American Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid certification or willing to obtain
· Ability to complete all paperwork, lesson plans etc.
necessary for successful course completion
· Ability to appropriately manage class participants
· Knowledge to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations
* Ability to perform all American Red Cross skills as trained
* Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate with peers
* Ability to work as part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues
* Ability to work independently, as well as a part of a team
