Position Summary: As an Elementary Teacher at I3 Academy, the primary focus is on promoting the holistic development and well-being of every child, fostering a culture where students take ownership of their learning.
This involves creating an environment that nurtures students' competence and encourages them to explore their interests through creative projects while achieving established learning goals.
Understanding students' individual needs and behaviors, and addressing them with empathy and support, is paramount, along with engaging in ongoing professional growth to continually enhance teaching practices.
Collaboration with colleagues to enhance learning opportunities for all students, differentiation of instruction, and utilizing diverse assessment methods to prioritize learning over grading are integral aspects of the role, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed.
Responsibilities: School Culture and Relationships (60%) Promote the general progress and well-being of the whole child.
Encourage and inspire students to take responsibility for their own learning and impact the world with it by creating an environment where students have an opportunity to explore their own interests and develop creative projects while mastering established learning goals.
Nurture a culture where students view themselves as competent learners and provide support to allow that competence to unfold.
Seek to understand students and craft driving questions or projects aimed at igniting their passion and action.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
Seek to understand the root cause of student behaviors and address them accordingly.
Engage students in student-led parent conferences.
Engage in high quality personal professional growth as a model of lifelong learning.
Curriculum and Lesson-Planning (20%) Collaborate regularly with professional staff to enhance learning for all students.
Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to further individual mastery of learning goals.
Differentiate learning activities as necessary for each learner considering differences in content, process, and product.
Design open-ended problems and guide students through the problem solving process.
Provide a supportive environment and adheres to all legal requirements for students.

Assessment and Data (20%) Assess student learning and growth through a body of student work with data gleaned from a variety of sources including anecdotal and observational data, emphasizing learning over grading.
