*Overview*: We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Spanish Instructor.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching the fundamentals of Spanish language education to beginners and have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching.
This position involves instructing high school students in Spanish as an elective class, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, and promoting cultural awareness through language acquisition.
The ideal candidate will have a strong English language foundation and an ability to design a curriculum that can support reading and writing comprehension overall.
*Responsibilities*: * Plan and deliver engaging Spanish lessons that align with the curriculum objectives and cater to students' diverse learning styles.
* Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to language learning and cultural exploration.
* Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to measure students' progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
* Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance language instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
* Incorporate cultural content and real-world applications into lessons to broaden students' understanding and appreciation of Spanish-speaking cultures.
* Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum goals, share best practices, and participate in professional development activities.
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance assessments in accordance with school policies.
* Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administrators to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and celebrate achievements.
* Stay informed about current trends and developments in language education, and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and improvement.
* Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and committees as needed to support the overall mission and community of the school.
*Qualifications*: * Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
* State teaching certification or licensure in Spanish (or eligibility to obtain certification).
* Proven experience teaching Spanish at the high school level, with a strong understanding of language acquisition principles and instructional methodologies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
* Enthusiasm for promoting cultural understanding and appreciation through language education.
* Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
* Proficiency in both spoken and written Spanish, with a deep understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
* Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources for language instruction.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement as an educator.
This is a part-time, hourly position with the potential to be a full-time role.
