Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an outstanding academic pediatric hospitalist to join the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, within the Department of Pediatrics.
This faculty position will drive the Division and Department’s strategic goals to advance clinical care, medical education, scholarship, and advocacy.
The division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) is comprised of an outstanding group of academic faculty and staff who are recognized as local and national leaders in education, quality improvement, advocacy, informatics, and health systems research.
Approximately a third of the PHM faculty are fellowship graduates, many from the division’s own fellowship program.
Members within the division are established leaders within the Department and Children’s of Alabama, with roles including leadership of the Pediatrics Clerkship and the Residency Programs, medical directorships of clinical units and informatics programs, and chairpersons of multiple quality and safety initiatives.

The successful candidate will have excellent clinical and teaching skills and defined scholarly interests.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary, and a record of interdisciplinary collaboration is desirable.
Candidates should possess a Doctoral degree (MD or DO),be licensed or eligible for license in the state of Alabama, and be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
Salary, rank and tenure are based on experience and current academic achievements.
