Job Description
Teach 1-2 courses on an as needed basis.
This position will assist the department by teaching additional courses needed to serve our student needs while not overloading faculty.
Required Qualifications
The Department of English at the University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications for part-time Credential Course Instructors.
Typically, CCIs teach 1-3 courses per semester depending on enrollment numbers and need.
Payment is on a per-course basis.
We are seeking instructors to teach courses in our Freshman Composition sequence, EH 101 and 102, with parallel sequences for students in need of additional developmental writing support and students who are second-language writers.
We may offer additional courses to CCIs based upon the candidate’s area of specialization.
Our primary need is for in-person class instruction.
This is an open application, and we will contact successful applicants via email several months before the beginning of any given semester about possible employment.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must have professional work experience in teaching Composition courses.
Applicants must have at least 18 graduate credit hours in English or a related field at the point of hire.
