Child Care Worker

Announcement #0596 Aletheia House is looking for childcare worker for the Birmingham, AL area.
The area served is Jefferson County and surrounding.
*Position Summary:* The childcare worker is responsible for providing childcare services and childcare development with all dependent children to the women who are receiving inpatient treatment for substance abuse disorders.
The childcare worker works closely with the treatment coordinator.
*Primary Responsibilities:* -Provide evidenced-based childcare services to the dependent children of women who are in inpatient treatment for a substance abuse disorder -Provide age-appropriate developmental activities with children -Referrals to Help Me Grow -Attend to children by providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to children.
This may include, but not limited to feeding, dressing and overseeing play -Report observed or unusual behavior of the children to their mother and the clinical staff.
-Maintain all childcare records and a log of all childcare services -Solve routine problems related to the children who are in care -Assist with medication administration, as needed -Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment services coordinator *Qualifications:* -Bachelor of Science degree in education or social work required -Work experience and undergraduate coursework in early childhood education and certification, preferred *Schedule:* Part Time, Non-Exempt, Monday-Friday 830a-2p *To Apply: *Individuals who are interested should via indeed link or fax cover letter and resume to 205-203-4843.
