Youth Development Professional

* *You will be in charge of a group of children that can range in age from 6-12 years old;* * *May serve as a rover, who cleans and assists other counselors when needed;* * *Oversee the safety and behavior of club members, ensuring that they listen and follow the rules;* * *Ensure disciplinary action is taken according to Boys and Girls Club guidelines when necessary;* * *Communicate and coordinate with other counselors while following a set schedule;* * *Help encourage club members* *to participate in programs and activates;* * *Be a role model for club members to look up to for guidance and encouragement;* * *Help organize and run programs and activities for club members to enjoy;* * *Help to provide club members with a fun, safe, positive environment;* * *Daily cleaning of spills, messes, program areas, and bathrooms as needed;* * *Monday- Friday 2PM-6PM;* * *Have fun* SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: * High school diploma or GED * Experience in working with children * Knowledge of youth development * Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems * Ability to deal with the general public * Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth * Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment * Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications * Valid State Driver’s License *DISCLAIMER:* The information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected of employees in this classification.
