Job Summary: Responsible for managing, evaluating, and monitoring investment portfolios of minimal value or complexity. Develops a base of managed accounts and follows prescribed stock selection and asset allocation strategy. Develops technical ability to communicate investment strategy and discipline in accordance with Synovus Trust Company policies. Reviews accounts for proper compliance with investment objectives. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Oversees and manages a base of accounts in accordance with their specific investment objectives. Monitors market and economic indicators and activity. Reviews and performs maintenance for assigned accounts in accordance with investment policy and procedures. Assists portfolio management team in research and monitoring of investment strategies. Meets with owners of assigned investment accounts regarding objectives and status; develops relationship and rapport with the client and the relationship manager. Provides backup and support to daily operations of the Trust Investment group; may give direction to support staff. Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field Minimum Experience: 2 years in a trust, financial planning or investment-related position Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Basic knowledge of financial markets and portfolio management Basic understanding of the functions and processes of the various U.S securities markets, including the execution of buy/sell orders Basic understanding of accounting principles and their application in understanding financial forms and reports Ability to understand trust and tax law Some exposure to established federal, and state regulatory laws, regulations and policies governing investment transactions Good interpersonal, negotiating and marketing skills to work with clients, management and external agencies Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a similar graduate degree Attained or pursuing Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) credentials CFA, CFP and CIMA
