*_ *JOB TITLE: Technical Director – Performing Arts Center (PAC)* *REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer* *JOB GOAL: To oversee and manage the development and utilization of all technical aspects of the Performing Arts Center, ensuring that the artistic, financial, and operational objectives are met* *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* - Bachelor’s degree in a related field; experience may be considered in lieu of education - A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in technical arts production to include: live audio console operation; audio, lighting, and lighting console programming, maintenance and operation; and set design and building - Proven leadership experience in a similar setting - Strong financial and budget management skills - A clear understanding of and passion for the performing arts - Ability to proficiently use current technology to communicate, to manage data, and to produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and/or financial information - Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills - Ability to work effectively in a team environment - Ability to establish credibility with numerous constituents and be comfortable and effective working with all levels of an organization - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills - Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends - Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner -Ability to meet suitability criteria (background check) under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No.
2002-457 -Such alternatives to the above qualifications as state, federal, and local law and the Board may require *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* 1.
Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, mission, goals, and priorities 2.
Assists in the development and implementation of a strategic vision for the PAC, ensuring alignment with the System’s mission and goals 3.
Serves as the PAC’s chief spokesperson, advocating for the arts, building public support, and maintaining a positive public image 4.
Serves as the primary point of contact for clients 5.
Schedules, plans, organizes, and executes all events, exhibits, and performances within the PAC to include but is not limited to load-in/load-out times, rehearsals, and performance times 6.
Assists with the coordination of logistics such as venue setup, seating arrangements, sound and lighting requirements, and stage design 7.
Provides leadership and vision to create a feeder system for training and apprenticeships 8.
Maintains and replaces equipment as needed throughout the system 9.
Creates and oversees the facility’s budget while operating within the HCS financial guidelines 10.
Oversees and ensures the smooth operation of all facets of the center, including but not limited to facilities, technical, and production 11.
Vets all contractors/contracted services to include but not limited to technical services, equipment providers and catering/food service providers, verifying that all meet agreed upon standards and expectations 12.
Collaborates with peers to curate a diverse and compelling program of performances, exhibits, and events that align with the artistic vision 13.
Acts as a visible and accessible leader, engaging with all external and internal customers to build support and maintain strong relationships 14.
Works closely with System leadership, providing regular updates, collaborating on strategic decisions, and implementing directives 15.
Supervise and provide leadership to the center’s staff to include regular employees, contracted staff, volunteers, or others providing services during events 16.
Continuously assesses the center’s performance, gathers feedback from stakeholders, and implements improvements as needed 17.
Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including contracts, licensing, and safety standards 18.
Adheres to local Board policies, administrative procedures, and other like directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws 19.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $96,524.
00 - $118,189.
