They can start laying as early as 6 weeks old and are fully mature by 8 weeks old providing you with eggs that can be incubated and hatched in just 17 days!
Laying up to 300 eggs per year per hen, their eggs are considered a superfood with many health benefits reported to include anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory activity, and their meat, while also very tasty, is high in protein, vitamins, and minerals.
Coturnix quail are quieter than chickens allowing even those living in urban/suburban homes to raise them, as well as often being allowed under game bird laws even when owning chickens may be prohibited.
