Gateway has an exciting full-time job opportunity to work as a Trauma Systems Therapy Instructor. Gateway has partnered with New York University's Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Trauma Systems Therapy Training Center to provide our entire clinical staff with training in Trauma Systems Therapy (TST). Gateway now has the opportunity to expand the knowledge of TST throughout the region by training foster parents, school personnel, community partners, and others who are involved in the lives of the therapeutic foster children we serve in this life-changing curriculum. Through the training, participants will receive the instruction and tools that will allow them to understand childhood trauma and its impact as well as increase participants knowledge of child behavioral symptoms resulting from this trauma. If you have an interest and experience in training and adult learning, this job is an excellent opportunity for you to put your skills into practice. You will be provided with the training needed to instruct others, including being trained as a Trauma Systems Therapy expert. You will be trained to use this defined curriculum to teach adults in the community that have a role in working with children who have experienced trauma. The trainer will also take part in a weekly multidisciplinary team consultation. This position is not office-based as the training will be provided throughout the community and region as Gateway takes the training to those in need of it. Must have a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field with at least 2 years of child welfare experience preferred (not including internships). Prior experience with Trauma Systems Therapy or coaching experience is preferred. Good written and verbal skills. Proficient with Electronic Health Records, email, and Microsoft Office. Reliable transportation as this position requires regular in-state travel for community-based TST training. Driving record and insurance as required by Gateway’s insurer. Internal applicants must be in good standing. Gateway offers a competitive salary, mileage reimbursement at the maximum Federal rate, generous leave time, comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) match, excellent supervision, and skills training, and seeks to promote from within. Gateway hires the best people because the children and families we serve deserve nothing less. Our team is a hardworking, ethical, diverse, and courageous workforce of champions. We are game changers, leaders, and innovators, dedicated to building strong families and stronger communities. Each team member is an exemplary professional and role model, working at the highest levels of quality, integrity, cultural competence, safety, and enthusiasm. Our unique strengths combine in Gateway’s collaborative environment to produce world-class outcomes for those we serve.
