The Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a tenure-track Chronic Disease Epidemiology faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank. This is a 12-month, full time position. Faculty will be expected and given the opportunity to develop their own independent line of research. In addition, substantial opportunities to collaborate and publish with other established investigators will be offered. This is an excellent opportunity to expand one's career into one of the most rapidly progressing and in-demand areas of scientific research. Candidates must have a background in epidemiologic research methods, in particular, methods for analyzing electronic medical records, a doctoral degree in epidemiology, and a demonstrated ability to apply these techniques to epidemiologic research. Proven ability to conduct innovative research is required. A successful track record of grant-funding is highly desirable. A successful track record of publication and collaboration as part of a research team is essential. We are seeking bright, energetic, hard-working persons who enjoy and excel at working as a team player with inter-disciplinary colleagues.
