Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team.
As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing educational programs for students.
Duties * Planning, supervising, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Developmental Disabilities * Planning and implementing weekly lesson plans based on the selected curricula * Planning, supervising, and implementing the program for the class per the policies and philosophies of Mitchell’s Place * Planning and Implementing methods for effectively utilizing the services of classroom assistants * Managing a learning environment to effectively meet the needs of each child with concerns for their interests, behavioral needs, disabilities, special talents, and individual style and pace of learning * Administering assessments to new, returning, and transitioning students with ASD and other developmental disabilities, as well as overseeing and/or administering screener and skills assessments to neuro-typical peers * Implementing ongoing evaluations needed to assess the developmental level of the children * Helping children become aware of their roles as integral members of a group * Being responsible for the ordered arrangement, appearance, and learning environment of the classroom * Data collection and entry * Modifying curriculum to meet individualized needs of both typical peers and students with disabilities * Implement accommodations to meet the developmental needs of all students * Provide a safe and nurturing environment for students Experience The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience: * Proficient in classroom management techniques * Ability to educate and engage children effectively * Familiarity with health and safety practices for young children * Collaborative and communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues * Experience working with students in an inclusive or special education setting * Early childhood education background Specific Requirements * Class A or Class B certification in special or collaborative education Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.
