Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Kitchen Worker to join our team.
As the Assistant Kitchen Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the operations of our school kitchen.
You will assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to our students, washing dishes, and ensuring a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Food Preparation: Assist in preparing meals and snacks for students, following established recipes and portion sizes.
* Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and storing food properly.
* Assist Head Cook: Support the Head Cook in meal preparation and kitchen operations as needed.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and hygiene practices.
* Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring, managing, rotating, and putting away inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
* Assist with Meal Service: Help in serving meals and snacks to students, ensuring prompt and friendly service.
* Other Duties: Assist with other kitchen-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment required.
* Evenings and weekends off.
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
* Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
* Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a team.
* A passion for providing nutritious meals to children.
* Able to work in environment with young people
* Eligible to be employed in the United States and pass a background screening
* Can lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
