Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Disease is seeking academically oriented cardiologists to join the section of Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Transplantation, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Pulmonary Vascular Disease.
UAB is a nationally recognized leader with a distinguished legacy in cardiac transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and pulmonary hypertension.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic clinical program with a dedicated inpatient unit, a high-volume outpatient clinic, and a catheterization suite.
Research activities of the section encompass clinical, translational, and basic science research.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing superlative patient care, teaching residents and fellows, and advancing the academic mission of the division, in a supportive and collegial environment.
Applicants must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure/ Cardiac Transplantation.
Experience in Pulmonary Hypertension is desirable, but not necessary.
Rank and tenure status will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

In addition, physicians and other clinical faculty candidates who will be employed by the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation (UAHSF) or other UAB Medicine entities, must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and nicotine screen to be hired.
