Job Description:
To assist and execute daily duties as assigned by Guest Services Leadership to ensure operations are effective, efficient and employees are supported in order to provide the best patient or guest experience.
To be part of a leadership structure that supports both the Guest Svcs Rep and Patient Transporter positions throughout the medical campuses.
To help coordinate/supervise the Lead positions in the department.
To ensure compliance with dept.
standards.
To assist supervisors and managers with scheduling, coverage of work assignments, organizing and facilitating new employee training, developing existing employees, coaching employees around performance initiatives, etc.
Under the supervision of the Supervisor and Managers for the department, to communicate with employees, colleagues, and other departments with whom the assigned area works daily.
To act as the immediate escalation path for situations that need leadership attention and escalate to the supervisor and or manage as appropriate.

Assists in the oversight of daily operations for the assigned area which includes supervising employees, coaching job performance, ensuring scheduling needs are met, communicating with supervisor or manage regarding daily employee performance and any action taken.
Create a culture of positive employee engagement and accountability by supporting team members with training, recognition, work responsibilities, and development which may include performance evaluations.
Maintains a level of supervision throughout the campus in order to meet or exceed departmental goals and or objectives.

Maintains awareness of employees' job functions and locations at all times.
Utilizes department tracking / performance systems.
Oversees training and onboarding of new team members.
May train employees directly or ensure training checklists are complete and properly taught.
Reports to supervisor any additional training needs for team members or the dept.
Ensures that existing employees receive training and or coaching in order to be in compliance and meet goals.
Additionally, will ensure thorough communication regarding any new department changes, objectives and or goals.

Ensures team members adhere to UAB core values, mission/vision and hospital policies.
Proactively offers help by taking ownership of all patient and family concerns and providing for individual needs of patients, families and employees located within assigned areas.
Records issues in the appropriate tracking system and elevates issues appropriately.

Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required.
Previous leadership experience required.
Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
