SUMMARY
The Guest Services Cashier is responsible for providing fast, friendly service to our guests while following proper cash handling procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greets all visitors with a smile and friendly manner, offers assistance and provides exemplary customer service to meet and exceed guest experience expectations.
Communicates clearly and in a friendly manner.
Maintains customer service standards while meeting needs of guests.
Ensures accuracy of transaction to visitor and communicates appreciation for their business.
Applies cash handling procedures, asset protection policies and requirements to daily routines.
Accounts for any “over or under” at closings.
Completes tasks on all checklists associated with the cashier position.
Utilizes computer in the preparation and use of daily cash worksheet and balancing at the end of each day.
Cleans and organizes assigned areas.
Identifies and follows all Zoo sanitation standards.
Serves as a team player to help others complete their objectives as needed.
May be required to work in another capacity in the guest services area as needed.
Given the opportunity, actively upsells daily admission into memberships.
Identifies and follows strict safety protocols for guests as well as staff.
Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, staff should expect:
Routinely exchange currency and goods with customers across a 3-foot distance.
Communicate effectively with customers and staff.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Exposure to wet surfaces.
Depending on assignment, exposure to the elements can be expected.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Degree or GED.

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS OF WORK
Full time, part time, or seasonal.
Weekdays and weekends required, occasional evening hours (during special events) and holidays.
