Housekeeper Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, and showers
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly
- Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces
- Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and disinfectants
- Adhere to safety guidelines and OSHA regulations
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor
Skills:
- Experience in commercial cleaning or custodial work preferred
- Knowledge of floor care techniques, including mopping, waxing, and buffing
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Understanding of proper sanitation practices in a hospital or healthcare setting is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
