Kennel Technician

Kennel Technician ensures the effective operation of the kennel area and oversees and ensures the general health and wellness of all dogs and cats at the clinic.
*Responsibilities:* * Assist with morning cleaning and other daily/weekly checklist items as needed to ensure all tasks are completed effectively and efficiently * Maintain cleanliness of grounds and outdoor areas * Feed and ensure that animals are being fed appropriate amounts at the designated time and that feeding protocols are being followed * Walk dogs 3 times daily.
* Report consistent cleaning issues/feeding issues and suggested solutions to Practice Manager * Ensure that special needs and/or hospitalized animals receive the extra care and cleaning that they need to ensure optimal health.
* Ensure that isolation and ICU areas are cleaned daily, and coordinate with staff and vet techs to ensure animals receive proper medication and care.
* Ensure proper sanitation and decontamination protocols are practiced in isolation areas.
* Ensure that clinic dog & cat are fed and allowed time outdoors as appropriate.
* Ensure the presence and accuracy of kennel cards on all kennel.
*Requirements: * · This is a hands-on working position and the candidate should be able to work on their feet performing physical labor and be able to lift up to 60 pounds · Must be available to work mornings and weekends .
Must be perceptive and well versed in reading canine behavior and body language · Must have the ability to communicate effectively and be able to work as part of a team.
