Description
The Administrative Assistant II to the Associate Dean supports the School of Education to meet the needs of the faculty and students.
This position provides support to the Associate Dean of the School of Education in accomplishing the school’s mission and purpose, including leading emergency management, serving as building coordinator, providing budget management, purchasing, organization of personnel functions, and a number of other projects and initiatives.
The position also provides assistance to the Associate Dean in the daily administration of the office so that it will function effectively and efficiently.
Job Duties
Provide budget management information, including review of various budgets
Assist with budget development and related decision making
Manage space utilization, space maintenance, and building needs 15
Serve as Building Coordinator and primary point of contact, including control of keys and assisting with renovation projects
Make recommendation regarding purchasing, equipment and furnishing
Lead emergency management efforts, plans, and training
Assist with personnel management, including evaluation schedules, upload of reports, and staff/faculty human resources forms
Manage the review process for all LOA’s, assist all departments with expectations, deadlines, and minimum students required
Assist with new program development, pro forma and budget, and personnel
Respond to donors and gift reports for Dean and Associate Dean
Manage special projects, such as TLA and MGLA
Assist with school-wide events
Assist with grants and research
Assist with all programs and committees related to the Associate Dean’s work
Qualifications
High school education and a minimum three (3) years of experience managing department budget(s) OR Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience managing department budget(s).
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience using Word, Excel, Outlook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business/Business Administration, Communication or a related field.
Previous experience working in higher education.
Previous experience using Banner, Anaplan, Argos or similar data management program(s).
