* *Job Title:* Flatwork Associate *Reports To:* Production Supervisor *Department:* Production _*Summary: Perform all flatwork functions and activities to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
Primary purpose of the position is to safely process merchandise for customer distribution at an acceptable quality and on schedule.
*_ *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* * At the beginning of each shift, your "Shortage List" will be your first priority for the day.
* Follow proper methods of linen handling.
* Grade items properly and place rejects (rewash, stain and rags) in proper bags.
* Process "Specials" in a timely manner.
* At the end of each shift, place your rewash, stain and ragged items in the proper Keep the carts and tables neat, clean, organized and free of debris at all times.
* Meet or exceed production standards.
Minimize product inefficiency by being present at workstation or work area *on time before and after *break or shift change.
* Accurately fill out your daily production sheet.
_If a production sheet is required, it is your responsibility to see that it is accurate, even if someone else fills it out.
_ * Keep the Production Supervisor informed of flatwork status throughout the day.
* Report any safety or maintenance difficulties to the Production Supervisor immediately and stop using the equipment until the problem is corrected.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Stop working no more than five minutes before the end of your shift and thoroughly clean your work area.
* Observe safety guidelines at all times and beware of long hair, loose clothing and jewelry that can get caught in the machinery.
* Wear safety equipment/protection if required.
* Cross train for other positions within the Production Department.
* Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality standards.
Perform other tasks as needed by the Production Supervisor.
*Minimum Qualifications:* * High school diploma or GED and * One year general work experience, or * Equivalent combination of education and experience.
