*Job: *Senior Accountant *Location: *Birmingham, AL *Hours:* M-F 8am-5pm *Pay: *$70,000 - $80,000 The Senior Accountant is a new role responsible for month end close, maintaining accounting records, preparing financial reports, and completing various financial analysis. This position ensures the accuracy of financial data and provides detailed financial information, analysis and reporting to support business operations. The position reports to the Controller. Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, we serve the South, Southwest, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. *What will you do as a Senior Accountant?* * Maintain Fixed Asset ledger, including additions, disposals, and depreciation/amortization schedules. * Ensure assets records and registrations are accurate, valid, and current. * Responsible for monthly lease accounting calculations and journal entries. * Lead property tax and business tax/license compliance * Gather data for and complete month-end close, process journal entries, and manage invoices for payment. * Maintain accounting records within local ERP system and prepare reports for upload into corporate system. * Maintain general ledger and process journal entries. * Perform balancing of several subledgers including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Inventory Value. * Complete data analysis as needed, prepare data driven reports and graphs, and distribute business and financial reports as required. * Reconcile and review bank accounts and petty cash. * Assist with the annual budgeting cycle and prepare periodic reports to monitor compliance to established budgets. * Prepare and review internal monthly and annual financial statements. * Assist in the sales tax compliance process. * Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of processes throughout the operational organization. *What do you need to be a Senior Accountant?* * B.S.
